“Can you make a Giant statue of Jeff Goldblum?”
Another fantastic request from the ever creative Fever PR. Of course, the answer was emphatically “YES!” so once a budget had been drawn up, off we went. The mission was to create a sculpture to celebrate the 25 year aniversary of the release of Jurassic Park for NOW TV.
The resulting polystyrene sculpture had a fab Paint job by the uber-talented Tommy Jolliffe. Layering up the glazes to get an amazing depth of colour made him really come to life!
The last we saw of ourJeff was on the Graham Norton show - his giant head in the hands of Jeff Goldblum himself. A truly bizarre moment.
We knew it was a success when we went down to take Jeff back off the South Bank - a crowd surrounded us chanting “Save our Jeff! Save our Jeff!” One of the good ones….
GIANT JEFF
The first thing I did was to create a good 3d model of Jeff Goldblum to work on. Luckily, he has enough fans that there are already models in existence of his head so really, it was a quick process to attach a body.
In the flesh, it was strangely life like, and that helps to create a strong emotional response. Plus, it turns out everyone loves Jeff Goldblum, so it got a huge amount of converage, making the national press and Saturday night TV.
